Supply Chain and Logistics Association of Australia invite submissions for T&L Industry Development awards 2009

Submissions are now open for the 2009 T&L Industry Development awards, which have been developed by the Supply Chain and Logistics Association of Australia , in conjunction with the Australian Logistics Council, APICS, CIPSA, the Department of Transport and Main Roads, and Strategix Training Group.

The Supply Chain and Logistics Association of Australia have also introduced a new category to the awards for 2009, the T&L Experience Pays Award. The Queensland T&L Experience Pays Award, sponsored by the Department of Transport and Main Roads is designed to provide incentive and recognition for mature-age individuals working in the Transport, Supply Chain and Logistics industries.

Queensland T&L Experience Pays Award

  • Following are the two awards in this category:
  • An individual who has been in the industry for more than 10 years
  • An individual who has been in the industry for less than 10 years

Following are the criteria for the Queensland T&L Experience Pays Award:

  • Description of the nominee’s career path to date
  • Description of the positive contribution the nominee have made to the workplace and/or the industry
  • Description of any professional achievements or any self development undertaken
  • Nominees should reside and work in Queensland and be over 45 years of age to be eligible for this award

Following are the prizes that would be offered for Queensland T&L Experience Pays Award:

  • A trophy will be awarded to the winner at a gala dinner
  • Invitation to be on the judging panel for this award in 2010
  • Automatic entry for the 2009 ASCLA Awards and a complimentary ticket to attend the National Awards dinner in Melbourne in November 2009
  • Complimentary individual membership to the Supply Chain and Logistics Association of Australia for 12 months

Queensland T&L Industry Futures Award

The Queensland T&L Industry Futures Award, sponsored by Strategix Training Group, will be awarded to the company, institution or organisation with a good record in providing people with an entry to, and pathway in, the transport, supply chain and logistics industries. The T&L Industry Futures Award includes education or training (formal or in-house), implementing flexible work practices, workforce development, and support in career progression.

Following are the criteria for Queensland T&L Industry Futures Award:

Describe the project or programme that the organisation has implemented in the past 12 months to encourage people to enter and develop in the T&L industry

  • Demonstrate the successes that have resulted from the initiative
  • Describe the future of the initiative and any additional work contestant plans to do
  • Companies should be based in Queensland to be eligible for this award

Following are the prizes to be offered for Queensland T&L Industry Futures Award:

  • A trophy for the organisation and one for the individual or team that led the initiative will be awarded at a gala dinner.
  • Invitation to be on the judging panel for this award in 2010
  • Automatic entry for the 2009 ASCLA Awards and a complimentary ticket to attend the National Awards dinner in Melbourne in November 2009
  • Complimentary Corporate Membership to the Supply Chain and Logistics Association of Australia for 12 months

T&L Future Leaders Award

The T&L Future leaders Award, sponsored by the Department of Transport and Main Roads, will provide incentive and recognition for individuals working in transport, supply chain and logistics industries that are planning a career path within the Industry.

Following are the criteria for the T&L Future Leaders Award:

  • Describe the nominee’s career path to date
  • Development activities the nominee has undertaken since leaving school
  • The nominee’s future prospects within the T&L industry
  • Nominees must reside and work in Queensland and be under 30 years of age to be eligible for this award

Following are the prizes that would be offered for the T&L Future Leaders Award:

  • A trophy will be awarded to the winner at a gala dinner
  • Invitation to be on the judging panel for this award in 2010
  • Automatic entry for the 2009 ASCLA Awards and a complimentary ticket to attend the National Awards dinner in Melbourne in November 2009

The choice of one of the three APICS courses namely, Fundamentals of Purchasing and Contract Management (Cert IV Level Unit), Fundamentals of Inventory Control (Cert IV Level Unit), Basics of Supply Chain Management (Diploma Level Unit) or a Complimentary individual membership to the Supply Chain and Logistics Association of Australia for 12 months.Winners will be announced on August 2009 during the tenth annual Queensland Supply Chain & Logistics Conference. All finalists will be invited to attend the awards dinner.
