Over 95 members of the Supply Chain and Logistics Association of Australia , Queensland Division spent their annual Christmas party for the third consecutive year packing Christmas hampers for Foodbank.
The SCLAA members spent three hours packing 600 hampers for Foodbank to distribute to those in need at Christmas, many of whom are without employment, families with young children and the homeless, according to Ken McMillan, General Manager of Foodbank Queensland.
The packing of the hampers was a culmination of 12 months of work with over $60,000 worth of goods raised to go inside the hampers, thanks to generous support from many companies across the country. Each hamper is worth $100 and made up of food and personal hygiene products.
In three years, the SCLAA in conjunction with the AIP has packed 1800 hampers to the value of over $180,000.
