Following on from the successful launch of the Rockhampton regional chapter of the Supply Chain and Logistics Association of Australia (SCLAA) earlier in the year, the region will be running a Logistics Lounge on Wednesday August 24 at the Frenchville Sports Club.
Speakers for the SCLAA Rockhampton Logistics Lounge will be Nev Burton, Principal - Australia and Overseas, Supply Chain Audit Services, and Drew Stevenson, Strategic Manager Administration and Technology Services, Rockhampton Regional Council.
Mr Burton is a Senior Commercial Professional with over 50 years management experience and achievement in Supply Chain Management, including Supply Chain Strategic Management, Contracting, Procurement, Logistics, Warehousing, Inventory Management and IT Systems.
At the SCLAA Rockhampton Logistics Lounge Mr Burton will provide a presentation on the Six Basic Rules of Supply Chain Management, which aims to show that even with the best tools, systems, and facilities it is difficult to meet customers' needs without basic knowledge of supply chain management. This presentation is about getting the basics right to ensure that when the tools are used customers are also being provided with the best possible service.
Following on from Mr Burton's presentation, Mr Stevenson will discuss the practical application of these Six Basic Rules of Supply Chain Management by providing a before and after style presentation, including the actual measured achievements delivered as a result of this approach.
Mr Stevenson is an RRC strategic manager responsible for the strategic direction and operational management of a broad portfolio of corporate business units encompassing information technology, records management, property and insurance, fleets services, customer service, and procurement and logistics.
The SCLAA Rockhampton Logistics Lounge is open for all to attend in the industry, and non members are also most welcome to attend.
