Maersk Logistics recently signed on as the inaugural foundation partner for the Supply Chain & Logistics Association of Australia (SCLAA) and believes that the SCLAA is leading the way in industry-based associations across the country.
According to Integrated Logistics, Maersk Australia being a foundation partner of the SCLAA, is a strong show of support for the large association for professionals and practitioners in Australia.
According to Integrated Logistics, the SCLAA is a national association available for professionals and practitioners to learn, network and grow together. With Branches in all major cities in the country, the SCLAA has a strong platform to help guide the way the industry moves forward.
Stating that Maersk Logistics was excited about this partnership, Integrated Logistics expressed belief that together they could educate the industry on the key issues and trends happening globally.
Terming recruitment and retention and finding a way to attract the Generation Y market into the industry as the single important issue, According to Integrated Logistics said that unfortunately the Supply Chain & Logistics industry was not being considered an industry that anyone aspires to develop their career in.
Integrated Logistics also stated that Maersk Logistics would like to work with the SCLAA to develop a career path for the younger generations to want to have a career in Supply Chain & Logistics.
It was also added that Maersk Logistics would like to start by having an open door policy for all of the younger generations to provide them with practical experience during their University courses, to experience the international world of Supply Chain & Logistics and to have the opportunity to join the global Maersk team.
