The Supply Chain and Logistics Association of Australia National Forklift Competition finals are now weeks away and all contestants will be moving pallets and cages supplied by CHEP Storage Systems in Melbourne. Over the last six months the Supply Chain and Logistics Association of Australia have been hosting heats for the driving of both counter balance and reach trucks in all states to select the top male and female operators in Australia. The finalists will have the opportunity to test their knowledge and skills at the National Safety Show in Melbourne.
This competition is now supported by many of the large corporations including Woolworths, Toll, Qantas and Coles. Trevor Webb and Angela Molloy, last year’s national champions, will compete against the finalists from this year’s heats against the national loadshifting standards while driving the latest Hyster forklifts. There will be two novelty events in the final to ensure that the participants need some luck as well as safe operating practice to move things around a warehouse or distribution system.
