Supply Chain and Logistics Association of Australia is an independent Australian association contributing to supply chain, transportation and logistics. The SCLAA Queensland Division will be holding a breakfast function on Thursday the 15th of April at the Queensland Cricketers Club with keynote speaker Craig Coleman OAM, CSM.
Craig Coleman is the Chief Executive Officer of Professional Service Solutions and is a regarded, enthusiastic manager, with over 27 years in leadership positions in the Australian Army and 12 years as owner/manager of private businesses. He has the ethics, knowledge, skills and motivation to create, develop and lead successful and sustainable businesses that give back to the communities in which they operate.
Craig has extensive international operational experience in both military and civilian roles and displays physical and moral courage in situations where danger exists.
Craig has twice been recognised through the Australian Honours System with the awards of the Medal of the Order of Australia for his work in Cambodia and the Conspicuous Service Medal for service to the Australia Army.
At the breakfast function Craig will discuss how to manage leadership and logistics in extreme risk situations and difficult environments. Craig will discuss Humanitarian Logistics and how the teams are chosen for their strong ethics, cultural sensitivity, and their ability to work as a cohesive team and adapt and withstand harsh conditions for extended periods.
This function will also be the official launch of the 2010 Queensland T&L Awards that are now in their third year and is the states’ feeder program in to the Australian Supply Chain and Logistics Awards. Sponsored by the Department of Transport and Main Roads, the Transport and Logistics Workforce Advisory Group, Strategix Training Group and apics the T&L Awards are designed to recognise the people who make up the diverse transport, logistics and supply chain industries.
During the morning a group of past Queensland T&L Awardees will be on a panel discussing what they have gained from the award program personally and professionally. Panelists will include Georgina, Vuksanovic, Distribution Supervisor, Mrs Crocket’s Kitchen, Bill Potter, National Learning and Development Manager, NQX Training College and Jodie Collie, Group Purchasing Officer, Collins Food Group. Bill Potter and Jodie Collie went on to win the Australian Supply Chain and Logistics Awards for their respective categories in 2009.
