Kerry Logistics appoints Viewlocity to overhaul Kerry Logistics’ supply chain management platform

Following a competitive evaluation process, Hong Kong based Kerry Logistics has appointed Viewlocity to implement a major overhaul to its supply chain management platform, to enable Kerry Logistics’ customers to manage all the processes across the supply chain with total visibility.

Viewlocity is a provider of supply chain management solutions that increase the operational efficiency of organisations, and is an integral part of logistics supply chains worldwide.

Kerry Logistics is one of the key third party logistics service providers in the Asia Pacific region, operating in 15 countries worldwide. In 2005, Kerry Logistics more than doubled its volume of sea and air cargo handled, when compared with 2004.

With the introduction of Viewlocity’s Control Tower Platform (CTP) Kerry Logistics’ customers will now have one global view of orders, inventory, shipments and forecasts. Improving supply chain visibility is one of Kerry Logistics’ key aims over the coming 12 months. With the backing and support of Viewlocity, Kerry Logistics is confident to achieve this well within this timeframe.

Before deciding to implement Viewlocity’s CTP, Kerry Logistics evaluated eight vendors, in addition to investigating building an in-house solution. The evaluation process showed that Viewlocity was the only vendor with a working proof of concept system that met the needs of Kerry Logistics’ complex and swiftly expanding operations.

Implementation of Viewlocity’s Control Tower Platform is in progress. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
