Champion Compressors is celebrating their membership of the global Sullair Corporation with an official name change and a new management team.
Owned by Sullair since 2002, the Melbourne-based Champion has benefited from Sullair’s global resources, technologies, product development and world-class continuous improvement systems.
Sullair Australia is the Australia-based designer and manufacturer of Champion industrial rotary screw air compressors as well as importer of Sullair diesel portable compressors, especially designed for harsh environments in the construction and mining industries.
A subsidiary of the Sullair Corporation, Sullair Australia also offers engineered compressor solutions in addition to an extensive range of vacuum systems, air treatment systems, water chillers and rental services.
Sullair is a subsidiary of Hamilton Sundstrand, a member of the United Technologies Corporation (UTC) group of companies, which includes iconic names such as Otis, Carrier, Pratt & Whitney, Sikorsky and UTC Fire & Security.
The new management team comprises of Adrian Davis, Michael Knowles and Michael Wilkinson.
Adrian Davis, the company’s new General Manager is leading the expansion at Sullair Australia. Bringing considerable industrial and business experience to the role, Davis aims to consolidate and expand the company’s position as an industrial leader by drawing on the strengths of its global parents.
Davis’ key focus will be to leverage the strengths of UTC to further improve Sullair Australia’s offerings to industry.
Davis says that Sullair Australia’s range of compressed-air solutions has established an enviable reputation that is second to none in the Australian marketplace. The objective would be to build on this base to continue improving the quality and range of their products as well as the levels of service delivered to the end-user.
Assisting Davis with his vision for the company will be Michael Knowles who has recently joined Sullair Australia as National Marketing Manager, and Michael Wilkinson, the new National Sales Manager.
Knowles brings a wealth of marketing experience to the company, having previously worked at diesel engine company Cummins South Pacific. Wilkinson’s previous position at Loctite further enhances the sales and marketing capabilities of the new team.
Sullair Australia will continue to offer industry a customised compressed-air solution that is tailored to the exact needs of the end-user’s application.
Davis adds that there is enormous scope for Sullair Australia to provide bespoke solutions to a greater number of markets overseas in addition to offering a much wider range of Sullair compressors to Australian markets in the future.
The full integration of Sullair Australia into UTC’s global business enterprise is expected to be a win-win scenario for the broad spectrum of industries it serves across the globe, and for the company itself.
Davis concludes by saying that an extended choice of products and enhanced levels of customer service will help Sullair Australia remain market leaders in compressed-air solutions.
