The SNU 5 compact point of use electric storage water heater from Stiebel Eltron Australia has been named as a finalist in the Water Saving Product of the Year category of the Master Plumbers and Gasfitters Association of Western Australia's 2012 Awards for Excellence.
The SNU 5 electric storage water heaters deliver both water and energy savings through a number of design innovations.
Engineered to deliver hot water quickly, the compact SNU 5 can be installed under a sink, close to the water delivery point, reducing the amount of piping required and the time it takes for hot water to arrive at the outlet. The installation flexibility is especially relevant for homes where the central hot water service is located a long way from the point of use, requiring the cold water to be drawn off before usable hot water arrives at the outlet.
Water saving is also achieved through the water heater’s unique open-vented design and expansion chamber that captures dripping water from the water heating process and feeds this water back into the storage tank. The SNU 5 electric storage water heater does not require a temperature and pressure relief valve, safe tray or drainage.
According to Darren Fletcher, Sales Director with Stiebel Eltron Australia, the SNU 5 is Watermark approved under Australian Standard AS3498, adding that the water heater is ideal for delivering hot water quickly to the point of use without wasting unnecessary water or energy, meeting the needs of customers seeking greater convenience and ways to reduce their living expenses.
