Stiebel Eltron Australia (SEA) is now a subsidiary of Stiebel Eltron International with the German parent company becoming a majority shareholder of SEA following more than a decade of steadily increasing sales growth for the Australian licensee.
This move is expected to strengthen the collaboration between the two companies and support the long term development of the market in Australia and New Zealand.
Stiebel Eltron, founded in 1924 is a market and technology leader in the hot water, heating, ventilation, air-conditioning, refrigeration and renewable energy sectors. During the past 16 years the team in Australia has worked closely with its German counterpart to develop products specifically designed to suit Australian operating environments, in particular the DEL instantaneous water heaters and WWK 300A heat pumps.
Stiebel Eltron International CEO, Rudolf Sonnemann explains that having experienced significant growth in the Australian market from a wide range of products, particularly the custom products, the company sees the change of ownership as the next logical step in the ongoing success of Stiebel Eltron Australia.
With energy efficiency and sustainability becoming important drivers across all parts of society, SEA Managing Director, Andrew Whitney believes that their products should help customers save money on energy costs and also be good for the environment. SEA’s success is attributed to the environmental performance, efficiency, installation quality and low running costs of some of the most efficient and effective water and room heating solutions available in the market.
Staff in Australia will now be able to directly call on the resources of a global company with production plants located around the world and employees operating in more than 120 countries. They will also have access to state-of-the-art research and manufacturing facilities in Germany.
