Formerly known as Australian Canvas and Synthetic Products Association (ACASPA), Specialised Textiles Association
is a national association representing fabricators, installers and suppliers of textiles, equipment, accessories and services in the specialised textiles industry.
The Association sets out to:
- offer membership that provides a source for information
- provide opportunities to network with industry peers
- set up a forum to make members' views known on industry issues
- provides a chance to help shape the future of the industry by participating in the Association's activities
The Association is comprised of firms and individuals engaged predominantly in the manufacturing and supplying of goods and services related to canvas, leather or allied synthetic fabrics for:
- domestic applications
At the time of publication, the Association has plans to introduce relevant industry accreditation in 2012. A draft accreditation model has been developed by the Association, and before it is rolled out to all members, it will be developed, tested and refined further via a pilot program to ensure the final solution is robust and sustainable.
