What’s the difference between a Lifts and a Hoist?
There is a significant difference between a ‘Lift’ and a ‘Hoist’ – a Lift is for public access and a Hoist is an industrial/commercial workhorse also suitable for many residential applications.
Southwell Hoists are fully compliant to AS1418 Part 8, Special Purpose Appliances under the Crane Code AS1418. Lifts are governed by AS1735, a different standard and application altogether)
