The Software Magazine has ranked DS SolidWorks as one of the world’s largest software companies.
Dassault Systèmes (DS) SolidWorks recently announced its inclusion on Software Magazine’s Software 500 ranking of the world’s largest software and service providers.
DS SolidWorks was ranked 110th with software revenue of $366.5 million.
Now in its 28th year, the Software 500 is a revenue-based ranking of the world’s largest software and services suppliers targeting medium to large enterprises, their IT professionals, software developers and business managers involved in software and services purchasing.
David Stott CFO of DS SolidWorks says that SolidWorks is honoured to be recognised for their healthy financial performance particularly in 2009, an economically challenging year for everyone.
He added that the ranking reflected their commitment to helping customers continually find new ways to streamline their engineering processes so they can stay profitable and further invest in their business.
More than 1 million product designers and engineers worldwide representing 130,000 organisations use SolidWorks software in their everyday operation.
In fact 35 of Bloomberg BusinessWeek’s 50 Most Innovative Companies own SolidWorks software totalling nearly 1,000 licenses in all.
The Software 500 ranking is based on total worldwide software and services revenue for 2009. This includes revenues from software licenses, maintenance and support as well as training and software-related services and consulting.
Suppliers are not ranked on their total corporate revenue, since many have other lines of business such as hardware.
The financial information was gathered by a survey prepared by King Content Co.
