Bluewater Systems’ new Rig 200 ARM development kit is available from Soanar . The Rig 200 solution provides an advanced embedded electronic development and prototyping platform that delivers the maximum level of functionality in its class. The Rig 200 provides for a wide range of ARM9 processor options and includes GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth and a 3 mega pixel camera.
The Rig 200 is compact and uses the Snapper System modules to provide the core processor function and enables it to work with a Marvel PXA270, PXA255 or Cirrus Logic CL15 ARM core. In addition to standard peripherals such as Ethernet, USB and Serial, the Rig 200 provides users with optional Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity. A range of expansion modules deliver more specialised functions and enable the Rig 200 to meet a range of specific development needs.
The module options in the Rig 200 include:
- The location plus module combines GPS location hardware and GPRS date transfer. It also supports additional Bluetooth and Zigbee
- An expansion plus module that allows connection to 3rd party peripherals
- The display plus is a fully featured LCD connector board that enables virtually any LCD to be connected to Rig 200
- A hard disk plus, a simple connector options that enables a 2.5" IDE hard disk to be connected
- A camera plus with 3MP camera option that can be operated by the Rig 200 board to provide high resolution image capture
The Rig 200 enables the user to start a project running, rather than starting a project from scratch. It enables the user to test and experiment with both hardware and software designs prior to committing to a specific development path. The Rig 200 is ideal for developing a vast array of electronic products such as GPS location units, mobile phones, PDA and more specialised embedded electronic devices.
