SunCon photovoltaic connector system

Hirschmann Automation and Control GmbH, represented in Australia and New Zealand by Soanar, has added new cable sockets and cable plugs to the SunCon connector system. These components which all have a captive gasket are designed for cables with a diameter of 4.2 to 5.2 mm.

Since sockets and plugs for cables with a diameter of 5 to 6 mm are already offered, photovoltaic systems with all the common cable thicknesses can now be contacted with the SunCon system.

The cable sockets and cable plugs which are designed for a temperature range of -40 to +110 degrees Celsius have a compact design and a contact resistance of less than 5mohm. The reference voltage is 1000 Volt (DC) and the reference current is between 23 and 30 Ampere.

The correct contacting is signalled by an audible click. This rules out accidental interruption of the circuit. The connection is easy to disconnect without tools by a special twist mechanism. The SunCon connector systems includes both cable sockets and cable plugs for connecting photovoltaic systems and installation sockets and plugs for connecting to inverters.

Other accessories such as Y-branches and mains plugs round off the program. All SunCon products consists of UV-resistant and halogen-free plastics and meet the requirements of both the RoHS regulation and the protection class IP68.
