Soanar releases new range SMPS external power supplies

Plug pack adaptor
Soanar has released a new range of SX2R series MEPS approved SMPS external power supplies. This plug pack adaptor is specially design for Australia and New Zealand, using switch mode technology and complies with the new Minimum Energy Performance Standards (MEPS).
The SX2R series consists of an initial stock range of 10-12 W plug packs in 5, 6, 9, 12 and 18 DC volts. A number of output lead DC plug configurations are provided.
Additional features of the SX2R series include, light weight at only 100 grams, fully regulated, short circuit and overload protection with a standby power of less than 0.5 W.
Typically, the SX2R series adaptor can be used for video games, computer speakers, battery eliminators, answering machines, modems, computer peripherals, audio and communications equipment. Also the SX2R series adaptor is an ideal replacement for inefficient linear (EI Transformer) plug packs.
MEPS is a mandatory ANZ Government initiative effective from April 1, 2008, to eliminate low efficiency external power supplies from the market and encourage the use of high efficiency power supplies. Many of the existing plug packs on the market today do not comply with the new AS/NZS 4665-2005 standards.
