Soanar introduces WiPort module
Soanar has introduced the matchbook-sized WiPort which gives the ability to add 802.11b wireless networking to any device with serial capability.
WiPort is a fast, cost-effective way to build 802.11b wireless connectivity into products.
Offering both wireless and Ethernet connectivity, the WiPort is essentially two device servers in one. The matchbook-sized module can usually be integrated into products without affecting your design.
And since WiPort is certified by the Federal Communications Commission, a separate certification when incorporating 802.11 wireless capability need not be pursued. This simplifies the process and reduces the associated costs of bringing a product to market.
Advantages:
- Serial-to-802.11b/g.
- Integrated Ethernet connectivity.
- Compact design conserves real estate and allows easy board installation.
- 128-bit WEP encryption.
- WPA security – PSK, TKIP.
- Two serial ports.
- 920K baud serial speeds.
- Optional memory configurations.
- Upgradeable to support other protocols.
- Flexible mounting options.
- RS-232 and RS-485 support.
- CANBus, SPIbus, I2Cbus.
- True end-to-end security with 256-bit Rijndael AES encryption.
