Power relay with latching coils
NAIS has released the DQ power relay, available from Soanar . The relay is designed with power saving latching coils.

NAIS’ DQ power relay
The relay allows applications like battery backed timer switches to use relays with capacities up to 30A. Most 30A power relays have high coil consumption, frequently over 1W. The use of latching coils means the drive power need only be applied for a fraction of a second. The power can then be removed, saving battery power or drain on the PSU.
The DQ is rated for 30A at 250Vac, in a 1 Form A contact configuration. It has been designed with a minimum insulation distance of 8mm and a surge withstand of 10kV. It is available with a choice of either single or twin latching coil options.
It measures 38mm x 29mm x 17.3mm and is PCB mounting but comes with 0.250 Faston terminals for the power contacts. Additional applications where the DQ relay may be appropriate include home automation controls such as electric water heaters, air conditioning units, and remote control of electric power meters.
