Micrel, represented in Australia by Soanar- Electronic Component & Supply Chain Solutions , has introduced the SY88236L/AL 2.5Gbps Laser Drivers with Integrated Limiting Amplifier. The SY88236L/AL are single supply 3.3V integrated laser drivers and post amplifiers that targets GPON ONU/ONT and GEPON module applications. The device is designed to be user-friendly, simple to implement, and cost-effective, supporting data rates from 155Mbps up to 2.5Gbps.
Features of the SY88236L/AL 2.5Gbps laser drivers include:
- The burst-mode driver on the laser driver provides a 2.5 ns transmit enable and disable time
- The laser driver can deliver modulation current up to 85mA and bias current up to 70mA to support high launch transmit power
- The laser driver's high compliance voltage makes it suitable for DC-coupling to the laser
- The laser driver features infinite bias current hold time between bursts, and power monitoring such as bias monitoring and modulation monitor while the post amplifier features RSSI
- The post amplifier can detect signals with amplitude as low as 5mVpp and has the option to output either a Loss-of-Signal (LOS) or Signal-Detect (SD)
