IEI SAILOR-12A 12.1” Full IP67 Rating All-weather Panel PC has won the Best Choice of Computex Taipei Award 2009. The SAILOR-12A 12.1” Full IP67 Rating All-weather Panel PC and sunlight readable SAILOR-12ASR are LCD touch panel PCs. These PCs have rugged and waterproof aluminium housing.
The SAILOR-12A panel PC, available from Soanar , meets the demands of all-day field use in mission critical applications in marine, avionics, military, mining, engineering and industrial settings. Dust, water, and other corrosive materials can be destructive over time. The fully sealed IP67 (NEMA6) compliant aluminium chassis and LCD touch panel of the SAILOR-12A are designed for high reliability, shock and vibration tolerance.
The SAILOR-12A panel PC can be used under extreme temperatures and harsh environments. The IEI panel PC strictly adheres to UL Test Data Programme (TDP), IP67 (1m of submersion for 30 minutes), and NEMA6 standard testing procedures. IP67/NEMA6 compliance ensures full waterproof protection including the aluminium housing, touch panel, connectors and optional cables.
The SAILOR-12A panel PC features a fanless, low voltage 1.6MHz Intel Atom processor with up to 2.0GB of 533MHz DDR2 memory. A rugged die-cast aluminium enclosure helps to dissipate heat, thereby reducing overheating and eliminating the need for a fan. The high speed 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi module and internal antenna provide broadband-speed browsing and uninterrupted wireless connectivity. A 2.5” SATA HDD bay and Compact Flash II slot offer a choice of storage options. The IEI SAILOR-12A panel PC offers flexible OS options including Windows CE 6.0, Windows XP Embedded and Linux.
The SAILOR-12A panel PC uses reliable, self-locking, threaded M12 connectors for LAN, RS-232, selectable RI/5V/12V RS-232/422/385, CAN bus and audio, (2) USB and 9~28V DC power adaptor connections. The SAILOR-12A panel PC is equipped with an automotive applied CAN-Bus interface. The Control Area Network (CAN), a serial bus system originally developed by Bosch for use in automobiles, is now being used for control in industrial and automotive applications.
The standard SAILOR-12A panel PC includes a 12.1 inch TFT LCD touch panel with 400 cd/m2 of brightness. A built-in 4 range ambient light sensor automatically detects the amount of light and adjusts the brightness of the screen to save system power and reduce user eye strain.
The SAILOR-12ASR panel PC adds Anti-Reflection (AR) technology and improved luminance through edge lighting to achieve high brightness (up to 1000 cd/m2) and higher contrast (700:1) ensuring visibility in bright daylight or marine conditions.
