Feedback amplifier with adjustable supply current
LINEAR Technology Corporation, represented by Soanar , has introduced the LT6210, a current feedback amplifier with adjustable supply current and bandwidth.
The supply current is programmable for a range of 300µA to 6mA corresponding with a bandwidth ranging from 10MHz to 200MHz.
Using a single resistor or current source, the supply current can be set to the minimum for a given speed. This feature allows designers to select the optimum speed to power ratio based on individual design requirements.
"This highly versatile op amp can replace various amplifiers with different speed to power ratios. By changing one resistor, each LT6210 can be configured to attain a specific bandwidth and slew rate for a given supply current. With this option, customers can stock one device for multiple sockets," said applications manager, Tim Regan.
The LT6210 offers adjustable low power consumption, high speed and low noise (6.5nV/ÖHz). Distortion ranges from -70dB at 1MHz 2VP-P to -75dB HD3 at 1MHz 2VP-P.
These features make the LT6210 suitable for use in a variety of applications from power conscious portable designs to high speed data communications.
The LT6210 can be used as a video line driver pre-amp, buffer or A-to-D driver in networking, mobile communications gear, video signal processing, cellular infrastructure, modems and remote power systems.
Video performance is available into a 150Ω load with a differential gain of 0.20% and differential phase of 0.10°.
The LT6210 operates on 3V to 12V single supply and ±1.5V to ±6V for dual supplies. Output swings rail-to-rail from 0.05V to 2.85V on 3V single supply.
The LT6210 is offered in the 6-lead ThinSOT package and is specified for operation over commercial and industrial temperature ranges.
Additional features include a slew rate of 700V/us; output drive of ±75mA minimum output current; and fast settling of 20ns 0.1% settling for 2V step.
