Dual 400MHz, 2500V/ms voltage feedback amplifier

THE LT1819 from Linear Technology, represented in Australia by Soanar , is a dual, high speed, unity gain stable, voltage feedback op amp with very low total harmonic distortion of -85dB at f=5MHz and VOUT=2Vp-p, RL=500Ω supply current is only 9mA/amplifier.

In addition, the amplifier features low noise (6nV/AHz@10kHz), 1.5mV max input offset voltage and a guaranteed minimum output current of 50mA.

This combination of features makes the LT1819 ideal for use in high-speed filters, ADC drivers and DAC buffers as well as high-end video and wireless base station amplifiers.

Bill Jett, design manager of the group that developed the LT1819, said the LT1819 was considerably faster than the majority of current feedback amplifiers (CFAs) on the market.

“However, the LT1819 has the added advantage of utilising the easier to use voltage feedback architecture. As a result, applications of the LT1819 are not limited by problems associated with a CFA's low impedance negative input.”

Specified for operation from 4V to 12V(±6V), the input common mode range extends to within 1.5V of the supplies and the outputs are guaranteed to drive a 500Ω load to at least 1.2V from the supply rails (1.4V guaranteed for -40°C to 85°C).

The LT1819 is available with specifications guaranteed either from 0°C to 70°C or -40°C to 85°C in the industry standard SOIC 8-lead package.
