Removing graffiti can be difficult even at the best of times. So Safe Specialty Products suggests few methods you can use to make it easier and quicker to achieve good results.

Firstly, no matter what graffiti chemicals you use make sure that you follow the safety instructions - appropriate gloves, goggles, shoes and clothes should always be worn.

Next you should look at the surface being treated, is it porous? Does the surface have a reflective coating? Or is it painted? Identifying the surface type effects the type of chemical product to be used (always test a non-critical area for effects).

So Safe Graffiti Removers has:

  • Blue label (for concrete surfaces): Generally used on difficult graffiti surfaces such as brick, stone or similiar
  • Yellow label (for painted surfaces): Generally used on non-porous surfaces such as tiles, road signs, colour bond, vinyl seats, painted wood (including school toilet doors), white boards (where permanent markers have been used) as well as other similar surfaces

Method porous surfaces (Such as concrete, bricks, blocks):

  • Dry surface (most graffiti removal products work best on dry surfaces)
  • Scrub surface with a nylon hard bristle or wire brush, to break the seal

  • Repeat steps 2 to 5, keep area wet with graffiti removal product, until all graffiti is loose
  • Remove chemicals with a hose or high pressure water blaster (preferable), working slowly back facing the wind at a 45º angle, approx 20cm away from the surface
  • If shadow exist repeat process
  • Coat surface with a non sacrificial surface graffiti protection, to make it easier for future graffiti removal
