A Perth winery recently applied SkyCool thermal coating to the roof of their galvanised irrigation shed to prevent it from heating to temperatures high enough to cause their reticulation equipment to trip out and fail.
Due to the extreme summer heat in Perth it is vital to apply water on the vines on the vineyard. At Avila winery this is done through an Israeli irrigation system, however until the application of SkyCool thermal coating, the vines would suffer at their most vulnerable time due to heat in the irrigation shed affecting the functionality of the computers controlling the reticulation equipment.
The day after SkyCool thermal coating had been applied to the irrigation shed a significant difference was noticed. The temperature inside the shed was one degree lower than ambient, something eve cynical vineyard managers agree to be quite amazing.
