Across Australia, a range of warehouses and factories without air conditioning are receiving the benefits of significant cooling by applying Skycool ’s insulating paint to roof areas.
Pioneer Hi-Breed, producers of high quality crop seeds to the agriculture industry are situated to the west of Dubbo where mid summer temperatures are high, thought of using Skycool's insulating paint on thier roof. Temperature control is important to storing and processing of seed and with temperatures often reaching the mid-forties in the shade the temperature under metal roofs can get to around 50°C to 80°C.
SkyCool’s insulating paint was applied to over 4,000 square metres of the Pioneer Hi-Breed facility and the temperatures then measured. The results showed that instead of being 10 to 20°C above the ambient temperature, the storage sheds were now around 8°C below ambient shade temperatures.
While using Skycool’s insulating paint, lower internal temperatures could also be obtained if the doors were kept shut for a large amount of time throughout the day, if operational activities allowed.
