Sick to showcase hand-held bar-code scanners at Hanover Trade Fair 2007

Hand-held bar-code scanners
Sick is showcasing a new generation of hand-held bar-code scanners, IT3800g, at the Hanover Trade Fair 2007.

The IT3800g’s ergonomic design and the numerous improvements in handling and reading performance, provide good prerequisites for the continuation of the successful history of the IT3800 family of linear imagers for mobile bar-code detection in commerce, production, transport and logistics or for processing documents.

The IT3800g exploits the new generation of linear imager technology. IT3800g features considerably longer reading distances, greater depth of focus and a more intensive scanning line with better visibility on the barcode.

Resolution has been improved to 0.075 mm; evaluation of the reading information is also quick. These features of the IT3800g show that is as simple and user friendly. Reliable aiming on the object, a high tolerance of movement and immediate information on positive reading results permit particularly easy work with the IT3800g.

The housing of the IT3800g is more ergonomically shaped and lighter. A variety of interfaces, including for common electronic till systems, permits smooth connection of the hand-held IT3800g.

In practical use, the robustness of the IT3800g is convincing as the device is still fully functional even after being dropped 50 times from a height of 1.5 m in trials.
