SICK has expanded its range of products with a series of powerful pressure transmitters, for measuring pressures in liquids and gases, in order to meet the demands industrial customers make of sensors for their machinery or plant – from a single source, to the customers’ advantage. SICK has mainly developed the new devices for use in factory automation. Whether in the car industry, vehicle assembly, machine tool construction, the electrical industry or in the packaging industry, the product range – with the innovative PBS pressure switch and two series of pressure transmitters, PBT and PFT – is ideally suited for not only covering the most varied of requirements, but also offering customers optimum cost-efficient solutions from a single source.
The PBS pressure switch is a powerful and space-saving pressure measurement device. It combines pressure transmitter, pressure switch and an indicator unit in a single device. Thus an analogue output is available optionally, in addition to the one or two switching outputs. Its intuitive adjustment, using three buttons and a display on the device, is oriented upon recommendation 24574-1 of the German Engineering Federation (VDMA) and makes operation particularly easy: the menu is simple to understand, spurious inputs are practically impossible, and setup only takes a few moments.
The PBS demonstrates particular flexibility regarding mounting. It is available with common process connections and thus requires no adapter. Its display and the electrical output can be turned opposite to the process connection or to one another. Mounting with an unrestricted view of the display and with optimum cable guidance is therefore possible even when space is limited. The attractive price/performance ratio and minimised setup times offer users considerable cost advantages.
As standard pressure transmitters for measuring liquid and gas pressures, the PBT Basic series offers an excellent price/performance ratio and covers most applications in factory automation. Simple and rapid installation, the availability of common process connections and the compact housing round out the description of this uncomplicated, but nevertheless powerful, all-round talent.
Special areas of use are covered by the PFT series. Further optional features such as a greater level of accuracy, expanded temperature range, flush-front measurement membrane or numerous optional process connections make the PFT a real specialist for demanding measurement tasks.
