Wilson Tool (products supplied in Australia by Sheetmetal Tooling Tech ) have introduced urethane products designed to reduce or eliminate sheet metal marking during bending operations.
Wilson Tool's new urethane mark free sheet metal bending solutions, including dies, holders, pads and rolls, help save press brake operators time by reducing, or even eliminating, the need to clean up unwanted marks on sheetmetal after bending.
Urethane dies are available in Wilson Tool’s range of American Precision and European style dies. These mark free sheet metal bending solutions greatly reduce, and in some cases completely eliminate, sheetmetal marking on the press brake.
Wilson Tool’s urethane holders are made from 6061-T6 aluminum and hold a urethane pad for mark free and radius bending. There are two pad hardness options available; the most commonly used Blue/90A, or Red/80A, which helps reduce tonnage in the application by approximately 20%.
Finally, urethane rolls provide a protective layer across the top of standard dies to reduce sheet metal marking. Available in two styles, the standard roll of urethane is available in thicknesses of .015" or .030", depending on the application. The new high-density urethane rolls are .022" thick and have a longer usage life than standard urethane.
