LISSMAC, represented in Australia by Sheetmetal Machinery , has released steel brushing machines that remove oxide film and sharp edges on both inside and outside contours in only one step.
After laser cutting of steel sheet with oxygen an oxide film develops at the cutting edges and since neither lacquers, powder coatings, or zinc can establish a bond with the metal in the area of this oxide film, the applied coating or paint easily flakes off in large areas. This can result in costly complaints and product returns. The sharp edges of a laser cut metal sheet can also cause injuries.
Lissmac’s steel brushing machine is used to brush sheets up to a thickness of 20mm on both sides simultaneously. It will also preserve the thickness of the sheet and the oil film during the process. Dust and sludge do not have to be removed by a suction device and quick access to individual machine components makes the machine easy to service and maintain.
