Leading Australian sheetmetal equipment supplier, Sheetmetal Machinery Australia will demonstrate a comprehensive range of innovative bending, folding, laser cutting and materials handling solutions to the manufacturing industry at Austech 2012 in Sydney.

Safan E-Brake

One of the earliest fully electric press brakes in the market, the Safan servo-electronic press brake E-Brake 80-2550 is designed for pressure forces up to 300 tons and working lengths of up to 4 metres.

To be showcased at the Austech 2012, the Safan E-Brake meets the three overall goals of bending operations: accuracy, speed and safety.

Brigitte Stavar from Sheetmetal Machinery explains that one can obtain an accurate and constant bending angle along the full working length of the machine without crowning. The absence of hydraulics eliminates the problems associated with environmentally harmful oil, contributing to a more sustainable and economical business.

Additionally, the unique, patented roller drive system in the upper beam ensures a uniform and even distribution of forces. A balanced combination of powerful electro-motors, fixed and movable rollers and specially developed belts facilitates capacities of up to 300 tons.

RAS XL-Folding Centre

Folding machines are ideal for shop owners seeking to bend sheetmetal parts minus a tool- and labour-intensive process. An efficient and productive way to get large, medium and low volume jobs done, folding machines feature several advances to enhance their suitability for different workpieces.

For instance, servo-electric motors drive the folding beam at extremely high speeds, often up to 150 degrees a second, effectively eliminating the speed disadvantage.

Single-beam folding systems now bend bi-directionally, both up and down to eliminate the difficult part-flipping that earlier systems required.

The new RAS XL-Centre on show at the Sheetmetal Machinery stand ticks all those boxes and offers technical excellence with 3200mm folding length at 1.5mm mild steel capacity.

Coil warehousing

Sheetmetal Machinery will also demonstrate the E-Ventures Centurio, an automatic sheetmetal slitting and cutting machine with an automated coil warehousing system.

According to Mrs Stavar, the Centurio is a revolutionary new machine that fundamentally changes the way metal coils are handled and stored, resulting in dramatic and measurable efficiencies in the metal component industry.

She explains that the Centurio is an automatic coil handling and warehousing system for light gauge sheetmetal that offers several advantages to metal forming factories including improved production time, reduced scrap rates, lower labour requirements, enhanced safety and space savings.

Laser cutting and notching

The El.En. S.pA. laser cutting system by Sheetmetal Machinery is designed to efficiently cut acrylic, stainless, aluminium or mild steel parts. Using the latest mid-size CO2 laser technology, and combined with new fast linear motors and 3-axis CNC gantry system, the laser cutting system is capable of clean piercing within 0.4 seconds on 12mm steel and engraves raster images on different materials.

Sheetmetal Machinery will also be exhibiting an ergonomic electric press brake for small parts from Coastone, corner forming from ACF and a 30º>140º variable angle hydraulic notching machine AV226/PA-CNC from SIMASV Italy.

Sheetmetal Machinery will be exhibiting these products on Stand D110 at Austech 2012 in Sydney.
