Integrated sensors measure the real beam deflection during the first degrees of the folding beam movement. Using this information, the CNC control activates the crowning system, which automatically compensates the beam deflection during the folding beam movement.
The CNC writes the adjustment value for each bend into the program, so that there is no need for additional measuring cycles for the remaining parts of the batch.
Straight bends are essential for perfectly folded parts. A solid and robust machine design contributes to consistent straight bend results.
The sturdy folding beam of the FLEXIbend resists bending forces using a deep and rigid box design. As is commonly known, the bending forces can vary significantly depending on material thickness, material quality and part length.
Additionally the machine deflection near the left and right side frames is less than in the centre of the machine.
Without any test bends or any additional program input, the crowning system of the FLEXIbend always creates straight parts whether the material is thick or thin, mild steel or stainless, the flanges are short or long, or if the part is folded in the centre of the machine or on one side.
