Special features of screw presses from Shannconsulting
The special features included while designing screw presses at Shannconsulting include rippers, shaft length and an effective worm assembly. All parts of the press that comes into contact with the process material are replaceable. The cage linings and worm assembly parts are made in specialist materials to withstand the wear forces that they will meet while functioning.
At Shannconsulting consideration is given to the clients needs as to what is the most suitable material. Few clients are happy to replace old worm assembly parts with new. Shannconsulting has given access to various clients in having the parts rebuilt.
The lining bars of these screw presses are Hardfaced, as it as a special radiused base that would prevent digging in to the cage casting. This removes insert shims under the bars. RIPPER is placed towards the discharge end. RIPPER can assist in turning over the cake mass, it can also mix the cake. RIPPER can be used to rupture any remaining oilcells.
RIPPER also acts as a back up when the pre-treatment system is not functioning correctly, inasmuch as it breaks up the seed and ruptures any oilcells that were not treated properly. The worm assembly is the most vital part of the Press design, it gives good capacity, reduces oil residues and works with low power usage.
