Sydney fabricator defies apprenticeship blues

Supplier News
Metal fabrication specialist Sevaan Group Pty Ltd is bucking the current industrial trend of job losses and reduced production, instead expanding with new orders for components and general work on the rise.

Formed by a merger between Proline Technology and longstanding fabricator Wisby & Leonard, Sevaan Group is capable of high-tech sheetmetal plating and product fabrication (engineering and machining), founded on the advanced technological level of its machines and operators.

The Sevaan Group has hired four new apprentices to complete their respective trade qualifications with the company. The apprentices will be exposed to advanced processes in sheetmetal working and machining and fabrication.

Sevaan Group Chief Executive Officer, Mr Tony Panrucker explains that the addition of new apprentices was necessary, and benefited both parties in equal measure. While the apprentices gain valuable work experience, the company gets to fulfil targets as a result of increased orders. Sevaan Group is now able to cater for current needs across the industry spectrum, and also increase its capacity to keep building on its strengths.

The company also offers a generous bonus scheme whereby employees are rewarded for achieving company targets. Mutual respect between the management and factory workers has helped increase production levels with very little staff turnover.

The Sevaan Group has completed projects for a wide range of industries such as rail and general engineering, power generation and mining, defence and aerospace as well as medical and food processing.
