SCHUBERT, represented by Selpak , will exhibit its new TLM range of top loading, robotic packaging machines at ACHEMA 2003, in Frankfurt, Germany, from May 19-24.
Over the past 15 years, Schubert has built more than 2000 CNC packaging machines -- the foundation for the TLM machine.
The TLM is also the first top loading packaging machine to be produced on an assembly line.
Today, the control system is the most important component in a packaging machine, as a good control system helps to reduce mechanical operations while decisively improving machine availability.
Schubert is the world's only packaging manufacturer that operates with decentralised control technology and uses an optical bus system for the networking of the robot units, critical ingredients for production reliability.
Top loading provides an immense variety of possibilities. Almost anything is possible. The most fascinating aspect is the free reign of creativity provided to the packaging developers.
The product and package inserts are placed into a carton from above. Top loading entails erecting a carton from a flat blank, filling with product and sealing it.
As simple as this may sound applications are as diverse as the imagination stretches: packaging 'bullets' into trays, packaging line for the new euro coin collector kits (eight 'orientated' coins into one tray), arranging pharmaceutical diagnostic kits, just to name a few, as well as the more traditional packaging systems.
The benefits of the new TLM range include relocation of the control system to the top of the machine (no free standing control cabinets), available in wash down version excellent accessibility for machine operator and maintenance colleagues, greater operational reliability, excellent layout and compact design, quieter operation, ease of operation and access for cleaning and lower investment costs.
