SECO Tools has expanded its CrownLoc drill system to include an M-geometry crown optimised for hard-to-drill materials and a special chamfer module that allows drilling and chamfering in one operation.

The M-geometry is suited to superalloy and difficult stainless steel applications.
Heat generation is reduced by having a smaller edge preparation that minimises cutting forces as well as an increased back taper to reduce friction.
The sharp cutting edges and large conical front rake reduce the tendency for work hardening of the workpiece.
