The ReporteR is a palm-sized, portable Raman spectrometer that identifies materials through their unique spectroscopic signature. The ReporteR spectrometer is an illicit drug, explosives, plastics and industrial chemicals identification system. It can be used for presumptive roadside testing of illegal narcotics, chemical testing on the factory floor and for testing of explosives and plastics.
Testing of suspicious illicit drugs, explosives, plastics and chemicals can take up to several weeks. Many police agencies have turned to presumptive drug testing to avoid this delay and to identify illicit drugs quickly. The palm-sized ReporteR spectrometer, weighing less than 311g, can rapidly identify unknown substances. The ReporteR spectrometer is an alternative to chemical pouch and swab kits. It can conduct a non-destructive test that can be performed on less than 100 mg of sample enclosed in a plastic bag or glass vial. This allows the user to preserve the evidence for con?rmatory testing for trial procedures. Field data is saved in a simple report format.
Real-time and accurate identification of an unknown substance occurs by comparing its unique molecular fingerprint to reference materials stored in a spectral library. Results are displayed on a high visible LED display that enables non-technical users to employ the device. The ReporteR spectrometer is customer programmable for new material library entries and software up-grades.
