When radiated energy is all one can depend upon for security and surveillance, it is time to look at thermal imagers. The Cohu 5900 series provides high thermal sensitivity and image resolution to see important details quickly and clearly, even in total darkness.
Based on an uncooled, microbalometer FPA detector, operating at the 8-14 micron spectrum, the 320 x 240 resolution detector provides four times the information of other, lower resolution detectors.
The military-grade microbalometer sensor delivers quality video, even in extreme conditions such as total darkness, smoke, atmospheric haze or dust, rain, light foliage, and many types of fog. There is a choice of four ruggedised hard carbon coated lenses for optimum detection field of view requirements.
The camera is enclosed in a sealed and pressurised housing to prevent damage to critical components. Multiple power options are available, providing for standard or low-power installation configurations. The camera can also be configured on a pan/tilt positioner for greater surveillance flexibility.
Cohu 5960 thermal surveillance camera and high-speed positioner
- Uncooled, microbalometer FPA detector
- Three detector resolution choices and four lens options
- High speed, accurate positioner via RS422 interface
- NTSC or PAL output
- Striking, yet unobtrusive appearance
The LWIR360 (Model 5960) combines a military-grade thermal imager with a precision, high-speed positioner. There is a choice of three detector resolutions (160 x 120, 320 x 240, or 640 x 480) and four lenses to suit nearly any situation.
With Cohu’s revolutionary high-speed pan/tilt positioner with its legendary sealed and pressurised camera enclosure, users are assured of reliable service and long life.
Control of the positioner is via an RS422 interface. The positioner has 360° continuous rotation; 160° pan speed, 64 preset positions, tours, and title generation. A single MS connector for power, video and data provides simple connectivity of the camera to the transmission system.
The positioner operates on standard Cohu protocol, making it easily integrated into a Cohu CCTV system. Cohu also can provide the interface to an IP network, as well as digital recording and archiving components with i-linx II.
To pair a thermal imager with another Cohu camera on one positioner, Cohu offers the new 5900 series Bob.
