Scitech  introduces high-speed interface boards from Engineering Design Team, Inc (EDT) designed to link devices such as digital cameras, high-resolution scanners, simulation systems, test systems and telecom receivers to almost any computer.
 
EDT’s products meet diverse applications in astronomy, research, medicine, industry and defence. EDT's data communication, telecommunication, radio, and broadcast video products are designed around a main board/ mezzanine board architecture that provides the required speed and flexibility.
 
Once can choose a mezzanine board with the desired functionality, and a main board that fits their bus architecture, FPGA and memory requirements for the ideal solution for complex signalling requirements.
 
Signal receivers

EDT's SRXL and DRX series boards provide reception and signal transfer for a variety of signal receiving applications. Board-based products can be installed directly in PCI, PCI Express, and AMC computers, providing high-bandwidth connections for a fraction of the cost of similar alternatives.
 
Optical and electrical datacom/telecom boards

EDT has solutions for telecommunications and network monitoring and operation, covering a wide variety of signals specifications. EDT’s mezzanine board/ main board architecture, large FPGA resources, on-board memory options, and high-speed DMA to PCI and PCI Express computers provide fast, flexible network and telecom solutions, at a fraction of the cost of products with similar capabilities.
 
Data interfaces with ECL, RS422 and LVDS

From synchronous serial and RS-422 to high-speed parallel ECL, EDT has the data interface solution to solve simple and complex data interface problems at a fraction of the cost of similar solutions. 

  • SSE: 400 megabit per second synchronous serial interface for data acquisition, communications, and monitoring applications. Mezzanine board mounts to the PCIe8 LX, PCI GS, or SS main board
  • ECL/ LVDS-E/ RS422-E: Provides 32 differential ECL, LVDS, or RS-422 inputs or outputs for data acquisition, communication, and monitoring applications, with optional E1/T1. Mezzanine board mounts to the PCIe8 LX, PCI GS, or SS main board
  • LVDS/RS422: Provides 33 LVDS or RS422 input or outputs for data acquisition, communication and monitoring applications. Mezzanine board mounts to the PCI GS or PCI SS main board
Combination boards

Provides E1/T1, E3/T3, ECL, LVDS, RS-422 and TTL for data acquisition, monitoring and general purpose applications.

  • Combo: High rate communication interface for data acquisition and datacom/ telecom network monitoring. Uses ECL signal levels, with jumpers to select input/output differential connector pins. Mezzanine board mounts to the PCIe8 LX, PCI GS, or SS main board
  • Combo 2: High rate communication interface for data acquisition and datacom/ telecom network monitoring. Uses LVDS or optionally RS422 signal levels, with jumpers to select input/output differential connector pins. Mezzanine board mounts to the PCIe8 LX, PCI GS, or SS main board
  • Combo 3: High rate communication interface for data acquisition and datacom/ telecomm network monitoring. Uses ECL signal levels, with register-selectable input/output on differential connector pins. Mezzanine board mounts to the PCIe8 LX, PCI GS, or SS main board
Main boards and hardware accelerators

Each of the above mezzanine boards must be paired with a PCI or PCI Express main board. Main boards have extensive FPGA resources and can also be used standalone as hardware accelerators.

  • PCIe8 LX: 8-Lane PCI Express board provides high-speed DMA and data processing for speciality I/O mezzanine boards. Accepts the same mezzanine boards as the PCI GS and SS main boards but for PCI Express, with faster data rates, more memory and larger gate array options
  • PCI GS: High-speed DMA and data processing board for speciality I/O mezzanine boards on the PCI bus. Accepts the same mezzanine boards as the PCI SS main board but provides more memory and larger gate array options
  • PCI SS: Provides DMA and slave access resources, a high speed 16-channel DMA controller, and a large user programmable Xilinx and memory for flexible application programming. Accepts the same mezzanine boards as the PCI GS board but with smaller, more economical FPGA options
  • AMC FX5: Main board for AMC (uTCA). Provides DMA, memory, and FPGA resources to a mezzanine board such as the EDT DRX Dual IF signal receiver. Programmable FPGA with PowerPCI and DDR2 memory
Systems, servers, data recorders

Rack-mount systems and data recorders feature the slots and power needed to run I/O-intensive applications in demanding environments.

Auxiliary boards, GPS/IRIG timing

Time distribution from GPS or IRIG, connectivity between multiple main boards, mechanical/ cooling board.
