Schneider Electric has announced its strategic partnership with Anglo Platinum to deliver Ampla, its MES (management execution system) solution, over the next three years.
Schneider Electric and Anglo Platinum have a common goal to develop a MES solution for the minerals processing industry.
Anglo Platinum will implement Ampla throughout its South African process division, including concentrators, smelters and refineries.

Anglo Platinum also states that, Schneider Electric has a clear focus on solutions for operational eminence and energy efficiency and that it challenges Schneider Electric to understand its business and offer solutions that helps drive its performance.
Over the next three years, Ampla will be deployed to support Anglo Platinum's increasing production of world wide demand for platinum and will focus on nine key areas: modelling, event-based integration, operational reporting and analysis, metal balance at plant level, maintenance management and execution, production planning, plant scheduling and blending and material tracking, genealogy and energy management.
“Ampla will deliver real-time operational data that will provide Anglo Platinum with a sustainable approach to operational performance monitoring, allowing all levels of management to work from the same set of reliable information,” says Colette Munro, Senior Vice President Manufacturing Execution Systems, Automation Business Unit, Schneider Electric.
Ampla will also support Anglo Platinum’s enterprise architecture and will integrate consistently with its SAP Enterprise Resource Planning and Enterprise Asset Management business systems.
