KPM’s Cerlic optical consistency transmitters available from Scandinavian Electronics Pty Ltd
are designed for use in wastewater treatment systems.
KPM offers a full range of optical consistency transmitters for in-line and by-pass installations. The sensor measures fibres and particles greater than 0.88 microns such as stock from 0.001% (10ppm) to 15% (depending on type of stock).
KPM’s Cerlic optical consistency transmitters are robustly built and feature a 316 stainless steel construction with sapphire glass lenses to withstand aggressive media. Sensor pressure class is PN25 for by-pass sensors and PN16 for in-line sensors.
The measuring principle of the Cerlic range is based on the ability of the suspended particles to absorb and reflect/transmit NIR-light (near infrared), pulsed at 880 nm.
The CTXIL 20/70 in-line sensors can be installed directly to process pipes similar to blade type consistency transmitters.
CTX by-pass consistency sensors are developed to measure fibre consistency in liquids from 0.001% to 2%. The CTXP has polarising measurement making it suitable for paper machine retention measurement, where there is variation in ash content. The sensors have a 20mm (CTXP 3mm) gap between the lenses, which produces a self cleaning effect due to the increased velocity. CTX-LC sensors are designed for mill effluents.
Remote BB2 control box
The sensors are pre-calibrated for quick and easy start-up and a one-point adjustment is performed against a laboratory test after installation.
The BB2 control box has four selectable calibration curves for varying applications. Two CTX sensors may be connected to a single BB2 control box, which provides two 4-20mA outputs.
