A CubiScan dimensioning system was recently commissioned at the Melbourne warehouse of a major pharmaceutical company in Victoria to automate the input of volumetric and weight data for new warehouse items.
Scale Components ' trained and experienced staff provided a software interface to link the CubiScan mobile dimensioning system to the client’s Warehouse Management System (WMS) to allow direct transfer of collated data.
Warehouse Management Systems require the weight and dimensions of each and every item stored in the warehouse and the CubiScan 100 is the ideal tool to collecting all this information, accurately and efficiently. Each stock item is placed onto the cubing system for the CubiScan 100 to assess its weight and dimensions while a bar code scanner captures the item’s part and identity details.
The CubiScan dimensioning system is designed to work with and interface to the WMS software to facilitate storage location selection, order picking, carton selection and shipment planning. The CubiScan 100 is compatible with case packing/load optimisation software packages and eliminates manual data entry and protects data integrity.
When generating a picking list for client orders, the WMS uses the weight and dimensional data from the cubing system to calculate the exact weight and dimensions of the combined items and then identifies the required carton size for packing and freighting of the goods.
Scale Components is the exclusive Australian distributor for the highly regarded CubiScan range of cubing and dimensioning systems manufactured by Quantronix in the USA.
Scale Components also provides a full range of high speed in-motion weighing and data capture systems that are ideal for use in the freight and logistics industries.
