Hardy Instruments appoints local distributor

US-based process weighing technology company Hardy Instruments has appointed Scale Components to bring a range of process weighing solutions to Australian shores.

Hardy Instruments’ filler/dispenser unit.

Ian Fleming, managing director of Scale Components, said being selected as the representative for Hardy Instruments was a tribute to his company's customer service, technical expertise and long standing in the process weighing industry in Australia.

"Hardy Instruments is a world leader in the manufacture, distribution and service of weighing equipment in a number of process industries, including food and beverage, chemical, petrochemical, aggregate and pulp and paper," Mr Fleming said.

"Hardy is an ISO 9001 certified company offering a full line of application-specific weight controllers, weight indicators, weigh scale modules, rate controllers, load points and accessories for process control," he said.

"Hardy was the first company to connect weighing instrumentation to Allen-Bradley PLCs without programming software drivers and has developed the most connection options in the process industry, offering Modicon, Iconics, PROFIBUS, Remote I/O, DeviceNet and direct backplane connections for Allen-Bradley Series 5 and 500 PLC/SLCs," Mr Fleming said

Weight data is easily transferred directly to Allen-Bradley PLCs, SLCs and ControlLogix via plug-in weigh scale modules, or over interfaces such as Remote I/O, DeviceNet.

The company's newest series of controllers also provides communications over an IR port to a PDA and over Ethernet via an embedded web server.

This instrumentation is used in a variety of applications including mixing and blending, filling and dispensing, batching, check weighing, rate control, level by weight and force measurement.

Hardy Instruments is a member of the Rockwell Automation Encompass Partner organisation.
