THE new GC2025 insert grade from Sandvik Materials Technology is suitable for anyone turning stainless steel.
This new all-in-one insert grade covers the major part of small batch productions in stainless steel, particularly within industry areas such as pumps and flanges, aerospace and couplings and the food industry.
GC2025 is a completely new grade consisting of new substrate with a unique mix of hardness and toughness, and a multi-layer that enables increased resistance to crack growth.
The new MT-CVD coating reduces flaking, built-up edges and adhesions, providing a number of benefits to the user:
* Excellent capability in roughing as well as in intermittent machining.
* Possibility to machine with lower speeds near the centre as well as higher peripheral speeds.
* Improved performance when machining forged skin and in duplex stainless steel.
This new optimised all-round grade is available in up to seven insert geometries from finishing to roughing, and in each of the CoroTurn 107 and T-Max P programs.
