SANDVIK Materials Technology has expanded its manufacturing and stock programme of stainless steel hollow bar to include sizes up to 420mm outside diameter.
Sandvik now has a range of over 100 different hollow bar sizes, many of which can be supplied from stock. The new sizes have all the improved machinability benefits of the Saninac family of stainless steels without jeopardising key properties such as corrosion resistance and mechanical strength. They are aimed at producers of mechanical components used in the manufacture of valves, pumps, flow meters, fittings, flanges and mechanical seals for the process industries.
Previously available in a size range from 30mm up to 250mm outside diameter (OD), the range has six new sizes from 300mm OD x 200mm inside diameter (ID) up to 420 OD x 300mm ID in lengths from 3.5m to 5m. They are produced in stainless steel grades Samnac 304L and Sanmac 316L and available from stock. All hollow bar sizes can be supplied cut to length if required.
The Sanmac range of stainless machining steels are produced with the optimum chemical composition, optimised non-metallic inclusions and closely controlled production and process parameters. The steels are designed to reduce machine tool wear, increase cutting speeds, improve productivity and obtain significant cost reductions.
As well as the range of hollow bar, Sandvik manufactures Sanmac round bar in sizes from 20mm up to 500mm, in a range of stainless and duplex stainless steel grades. Supplied peel turned or peel turned and polished, Samnac bar is available in lengths of 3m to 7m, depending on diameter. It is produced in accordance with all relevant international standards.
