SANDVIK Coromant has extended its Coromill 390 range of highly productive metal removers by introducing new shoulder face milling cutters along with long edge cutters carrying 18mm inserts.
Both cutter versions provide high removal rate performance whatever the available spindle power, and will improve the efficiency of most machine tools significantly.
The strength of the cutting edges of the new extra-robust 18mm inserts allows high feed loads and resists edge frittering - a common problem in extended tooling operations.
The stability of the entire concept is the characteristic feature that makes these cutters capable of heavy removal in the safest possible way, including applications requiring long reach overhang.
The range of long edge cutters, using 11 or 18mm inserts, covers diameters from 32 to 200mm, capable of milling depths from 36 to 85mm. Shoulder milling cutters are available in diameters from 40 to 200 mm.
CoroMill 390 is an attractive concept in particular for multi-task machines like mill-turn centres and multi-axis machining centres, as these are dependent on power efficient cutting tools to provide their optimal productivity.
