SANDVIK Coromant has released CoroDrill 880 with step technology for good cutting force balance, improving productivity as well as hole quality.
The shaped-centre insert gives a smooth entrance into the workpiece. The cutting force balance allows up to 100% higher feed rates, cutting the cost per drilled hole in half.
Close tolerance designed inserts with four cutting edges and wiper geometry improve hole tolerances and achievable surface finish, providing a productive solution for the predrilling of threaded holes.
A choice of insert geometries and grades allows performance to be optimised in different applications and materials. The drill can be used for helical interpolation, plunge drilling and boring. Diameters from 12mm to 63.5mm in four different lengths, ranging from two to five xD.
