THE user-friendly high performance and rigid clamping system for all turning operations from Sandvik Coromant - CoroTurn RC - is being significantly extended.
New Coromant Capto cutting units, designed to work at 45 degrees utilising the B-axis in modern multi-task machines, have been introduced.
Also new are the CoroTurn RC cutting heads designed to be used with solid and damped boring bars (type 570) for internal machining.
The completed range will now satisfy the wide variety of operational demands in multi-task and other machines while allowing a reduction in tool inventory.
CoroTurn RC clamps the insert in two directions by combining downward forces with the tip seat positioning giving very firm clamping.
The tip seat is designed for total interchangeability of clamp sets and shims to suit inserts in different cutting materials and thicknesses.
Excellent stability is achieved through the rigid clamping in combination with Coromant Capto coupling.
The improved radial and axial reliefs on all external Coromant Capto cutting units also make them suitable for internal machining.
