DIRECT machining of pre-hardened materials in one single set-up will reduce the number of process steps and cut the delivery time of components by up to 50 per cent, according to Sandvik Coromant .
The new grade GC1610 is first in the line up of Sandvik's new hi-tech grade concepts developed for CoroMill Plura carbide endmills. It is designed for peak performance, specifically in finishing of dies and moulds in steels harder than 47 HRc.
CoroMill Plura GC1610 provides a good surface finish with exceptional accuracy. GC1610 is a PVD coated grade with Pluratech quality produced from an extra fine grain substrate with an optimised TiAlN coating.
CoroMill Plura is a combination of solid carbide tooling solutions and advanced application technology for the best production economy - whether it be for diemaking, milling of aerospace components or for general purpose milling.
Solid carbide endmills are available in standard diameters from 0.4 to 25mm.
