THE release of Pathtrace's EdgeCAM, version 7.75, offers direct integration with the Sandvik Coromant CoroGuide electronic tooling catalogue, allowing EdgeCAM users to directly import tooling parameters, thereby reducing programming and tooling set up time.
The CoroGuide tooling catalogue of some 25,000 tooling components enables the selection and make up of tool assemblies by searching either by application or product category.
The latest update is 03.1.
David Boucher, Pathtrace research and development director commented: "This latest release of EdgeCAM adds the benefits of integration with our partner's tooling catalogue for our users, allowing Sandvik Coromant tooling assemblies to be directly loaded into the EdgeCAM ToolStore."
Waino Kaarto, global business development manager at Sandvik Coromant commented: "We are extremely pleased to offer all EdgeCAM users our complete tooling and cutting data. We are convinced that this resource will facilitate the choice of modern, high production tools.
"We look forward to strengthening our technical co-operation with Pathtrace in the mould and die area. So far we have seen many positive results. Intelligent CAM strategies developed in close relation to cutting tool features is a key to success and enables our joint mould and die customers worldwide to cut lead times and increase their profitability."
