Sanderson’s Allergens module for Witwood Food Products

Witwood Food Products manufacture batter mixes, breadcrumbs, seasonings, pre-dusts and dry mix marinades to the frozen and chilled food markets.

Food allergens affect 4% of the adult population and 8% of children. As such, the traceability of allergens through the supply chain has become a major concern for food manufacturers.

The Sanderson Allergens module will assist food manufacturers in identifying and monitoring allergens, ensuring conformity to new legislation.

The new module also provides appropriate modifications to product documents highlighting the presence of allergens within finished products and recipes. This allows allergens to be securely monitored throughout the factory.

A labelling facility uses information held in the central database to produce labels for the finished product – alleviating the need to maintain a separate sub system.

John Butcher from Witwood Food Products comments that the control of substances that cause allergic reaction is vital within the modern food manufacturing supply chain.

The software provided by Sanderson gave Witwood Food Products full visibility throughout the manufacturing process both on the factory floor and in the office. He added that it allowed Witwood Food Products to control the necessary processes painlessly and with minimal manual input.
